Queen distinguidos como 'Icone Global' pela MTV

A banda de pop-rock Queen vai ser homenageada nos MTV EMAs 2011 com o prémio ‘Ícone Global’ que vai decorrer no próximo dia 6 de Novembro em Belfast, na Irlanda.

Os Queen, que comemoram este ano o 40º aniversário, já venderam 300 milhões de discos e são considerados uma das melhores bandas rock de sempre com 16 álbuns, 18 singles em número um e o álbum mais vendido de sempre no Reino Unido.

Brian May, considera “uma honra” serem distinguidos como ‘Ícone Global’, acrescentando que farão “ o nosso melhor por sermos merecedores”.

A lendária banda subirá ao palco para uma actuação especial, numa cerimónia apresentada por Selena Gomez e que será transmitida em directo na MTV Portugal a partir das 19h00.

Lady Gaga lidera o grupo com seis nomeações, seguida de Katy Perry e Bruno Mars com quatro nomeações.
